Music typesetting

Although still referred to as typesetting the process of laying out pages of music is now done using specialist software. Even so, a high level knowledge of musical notation is required to produce scores and parts that are clear in their meaning and are easy to read and to play.

We can produce full scores, short scores, instrumental parts, lead sheets, cue sheets, etc. as required. These are suitable for use in concerts, recitals, theatres, worship or recordings.

We can work from manuscript, piano scores, archive sources, etc. Depending on the genre, we can produce new scorings or arrangements from limited sources. We can often recreate lost or missing parts

From archive scores we can produce new sets of parts in modern notation and in appropriate transpositions for modern instruments. See performing editions for more details.

If required, we can match your branding, layouts, formats and fonts so that our work can sit alongside your existing products.

For academic works, papers, proceedings or articles we can prepare figures, extracts and examples to set within your text for publication on paper or online.

We can provide scores and parts as digital files for you to use as masters for printing or for downloads, or we can provide them as printed sets for you to sell or use in performance. See printing and distribution for more details.

Our music and audio services are priced individually based on the time required. You can contact us for a no obligation quote.
